Cutting Only- This refers to the section be sold has been carefully cut off the mother plant. Usually an arm will be cut but other times its the top of the main stem.

Cactus/succulent cuttings are able to go a long time without water and nutrients provided by the roots as they hold their moisture in.

Cuttings needs to be dried out properly between 3-14 days so the bottom forms a callous. This is to prevent the cutting from rotting when planted in soil while you wait for new roots to form.

Rooted Cuttings- Rooted cuttings simply means the cutting taken off the mother plant has already been dried and replanted for long enough to allow the new roots to form.

A cutting with roots takes more time to produce, hence it costs more. It also will take to new soil better and grow in size faster than a cutting without roots.

If you checked out with the cutting only it will not have roots yet.

Plant in good draining soil and within 2-8weeks new roots will form. Be sure not to lift up the cutting or move within the dirt as new roots are very fine at first and easily damaged.

All cactus and succulents love the same well draining soil rich with nutrients.

Soil can be bough pre mixed from any garden or plant store.

You can make your own plant mix but using 50% high nutrient soil and 50% well draining aggregate such as river sand.

Accordion Content

This is determined based off how fast the plant can grow in optimal conditions once roots are formed.

It is in comparison to succulents and cactus plants not in comparison to other types of plants.
